Community Freedom School
I am one of the co-founding families for the Freedom Community School in SE DC, which is founded on a deep belief that children’s behavior should not be rewarded and punished—and should not be responded to by the same principles the criminal legal system operates by.
Black Public Defender Association
I am co-founder of the Black Public Defender Association, which aims to improve the quality of defense provided to low-income communities across the United States by creating and maintaining a national network of skilled Black public defenders that identify with and are committed to the populations they serve.
